Whether you believe the climate is changing or you believe that climate change is caused by humans or neither, I think it is important that we protect the environment and reduce pollution. I started making polar bears and whale tails as symbols of the importance of treating our planet better. My latest Earth Series will focus on the earth directly, using local clays and driftwood. The earths are abstract but I want to convey the fragility of our planet. We have the responsibility to ensure the earth is in good shape for our children and grandchildren.
On an practical  note, I use a Raku multiple firing process for the bears and whales tails and a reduction stoneware environment with dry glazes for the "earths".

The whale tails are 30cm (12") high and are made from clay with various stone bases.
The polar bears are about 20cm (8") long, made from clay, some with bases, some not.
